Meet Brooke Vestermark Owner and Operator of Practical Permits

Hello! My Name is Brooke Vestermark. I started Practical Permits because a lot of City Jurisdictions are moving to an online platform for permitting making it a lot harder for Contractors and Homeowners to pull permits for their construction projects. I went into the permitting field as a "Permit Runner" for a large solar company from the years 2018 to 2021. As a permit runner, I drove and submitted permit applications to all cities throughout Orange County, LA County and San Diego County. Being a Permit runner allowed me to learn the way each city operates and the process to apply for a permit. Then I started working as a Permit Technician for the City of Cypress in March of 2021. There I learned all aspects of permitting from a simple reroof to large commercial projects. After a couple of years in Cypress I got the opportunity to move over to the City of Mission Viejo in January of 2023, where I remained as a Permit Technician and then became the lead permit tech in 2024 until March 2025. As an experienced Permit Technician I am able to take your construction project information and effortlessly fill out all of the necessary paperwork and submit it to a City Jurisdiction with ease.
